Monaka Privacy Policy

Monaka is a personal finance app for organizing accounts, imported statements, trackers, receipts, projects, and currency checks. This Privacy Policy explains what information Monaka handles and how it is used.

Information You Add to Monaka

Monaka stores the financial records you choose to enter or import, such as accounts, transactions, categories, trackers, receipts, receipt images, OCR text, projects, notes, currencies, and export files.

Monaka is designed as a local-first app. Your Monaka records are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or otherwise move them outside the app using system features.

Camera, Photos, and Files

Monaka may ask for access to your camera, photo library, or files so you can scan receipts, import receipt images, import bank statement files, or save/export records. Monaka uses this access only for the action you request.

Receipt images and imported documents may contain sensitive financial or personal information. You control which files and photos you add to Monaka.

OCR and Document Processing

Monaka uses on-device text recognition and document processing to help extract receipt details such as merchant, date, amount, and text. OCR results can be imperfect, and you should review extracted information before relying on it.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Monaka offers optional Monaka Pro subscriptions through Apple. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment details are handled by Apple. Monaka receives subscription status information from Apple so the app can unlock Pro features.

Monaka does not receive your full payment card number or Apple ID password.

Data Sharing

Monaka does not sell your personal information.

Monaka does not operate an advertising profile or sell finance records to advertisers. Data may leave the app only when you choose to export or share it, when Apple processes subscriptions, or when required by law.

Analytics and Diagnostics

Monaka does not currently operate a custom analytics service. Apple may provide developers with aggregated diagnostics, crash reports, purchase reports, and App Store analytics according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your Monaka records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, delete the app, or remove related files/backups yourself. Exported files and backups that you create are controlled by you and may remain wherever you save or share them.

Children

Monaka is not directed to children under 13. Do not use Monaka to submit information about children unless you have the right to do so.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Monaka changes. The effective date above will be updated when the policy changes.
